ISRAEL tour May 11 additional information:
Shiloh, Bethlehem and Jericho
We drive to Shiloh for tree planting. Then towards Bethlehem via the Nativity Circle and visit Bethlehem’s Manger Square. Manger Square is home to the Church of the Nativity, one of the world’s oldest-standing churches still functioning to this day. We will visit the main Basilica of the Nativity, designed in the typical Roman-style and constructed on the ruins of its predecessor in 565 AD, as well as the Catholic Church of St. Catherine, adjoining the Basilica of the Nativity.
Underneath the Church stands the Grotto of the Nativity, the cave in which Jesus was born, the exact spot of birth is marked by a 14-pointed star of silver set into the floor. We also visit the nearby Milk Grotto, where Mary nursed her son while the family was taking refuge before their flight into Egypt. A Franciscan Chapel is built above the Milk Grotto.
Our last stop in Bethlehem will be to a beautiful overview of the Shepherds’ Fields, and the special Church of the Shepherds’ Fields.
We then depart towards the Judean Desert, stopping en route to visit the Inn of the Good Samaritan. From the Inn of the Good Samaritan we overlook the breathtaking view of the moon-shaped landscape of the Judean Desert.
We make a short stop when we reach sea-level and then proceed to Jericho. In Jericho we stop at the Zacheus Sycamore, a very old sycamore tree, climbed by Zacheus to see Jesus passing by.
We will then visit the Tell es-Sultan, (Sultan’s Mound), also knows as the Mound of Ancient Jericho, where 25 consecutive settlements were uncovered and excavated, the first one dated to as early as 9000 BC. This special archeological site offers a unique picture of the different historical and pre-historical settlements of this region.
Leaving Jericho, we drive back to our hotels.
ISRAEL May 13 additional information:
Our tour to Masada and Dead sea begins by descending from Jerusalem below sea level through the Judean Desert.
On the way you can view the inn of the Good Samaritan. We will stop to look out across the desert as we pass the point marking "sea level".
The ancient city of Jericho can be seen in the distance where Joshua's troops caused the walls to fall (Joshua 6) and where Jesus healed the blind (Mark 10:46-52).
Arriving at Masada, we ascend the mountain by cable car, to tour the 2000-year old palace built by King Herod. Herod had built a swimming pool, water cisterns, two palaces, store rooms and even a synagogue.
It was here that the Jews came to defy the Romans and in this remote spot are reported to have committed mass suicide in defiance after a long and drawn-out siege by the Roman army.We will take you through the important archeological sites bringing this dramatic historical moment to life for you.
We leave Masada and head out to the Dead Sea. The tour concludes with time to enjoy basking in the sun at the beach or floating in the mineral-rich Dead Sea, located at the lowest place on earth (400m below sea level).
You can also cover yourself from head to toe in the natural Dead Sea mud, which has unique therapeutic qualities and will leave your skin feeling soft and fresh. . And don't worry if you don't know how to swim, the high salt content will keep you afloat.

The first stop in Nazareth
Is "ktofoti" in Bet Lechem Haglilit, in the Yizrael valley for additional planting (its included in tour price )
Special tour and lunch in "Nazareth village"
Then the Church of the Annunciation. Originally a Byzantine and then Crusader-era church, it was beautifully re-constructed in 1969. According to Catholic tradition, the annunciation was held at this spot, and inside, the Church’s lower level contains the Grotto of the Annunciation, which is believed by Catholics to be the remains of Mary’s childhood home.
The tour then visits the Church of St. Joseph’s Carpentry, believed to be the sight of Joseph’s carpentry workshop. Beneath the church lies a cave used by the early Roman dwellers for storage of food and water.
From Nazareth we proceed via Kafer Cana for a view of the Mount of Beatitudes, where, according to tradition, Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Then, at nearby historical Tabgha, located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, we visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish. The Church stands on the sight of a 4th century church, and preserves a beautiful early Christian mosaic, in addition to the traditional stone where that special meal was consumed.
Onwards, we visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue of Capernaum and the city of Christ. Overlooking Tiberias, we proceed to the site of baptismal on the Jordan River – the Yardenit, where there is an optional baptismal service.
We end our day, returning back to central Israel via a scenic view of Mt. Tabor, site of the Transfiguraton.
